Vivek needed a sign for his podcast studio, set on the wall at an angle so that when the camera turns to a guest, his brand shows behind them. He wanted it to look ultra-premium without costing much, and he did not need it lit. All he had was an AI-generated image of the board. AI images look good on screen, but they can’t be laser-cut: the letters have no clean outlines for the laser to follow, and acrylic letters and logos are cut by laser.
We redrew his logo and name as a clean cutting file and laid the board out again in about ten minutes: the V logo gets pride of place on the left, ON AIR sits big and bold beside it, and With Vivek runs underneath in a flowing script. Turning a client’s idea into a cutting file is part of making the board; we don’t offer logo or poster design as a service.
He saw our layout and picked us for the job straight away.
The base is 5 mm matte black acrylic, 33 in wide and 10 in high. ON AIR and the dot over the V are laser-cut from 5 mm glossy red acrylic; the V, its ring and With Vivek from 5 mm glossy white acrylic. Every piece is bonded onto the base.
He asked for matte and gloss together: the matte black base takes the light away, and the glossy letters catch it, so the name stands out on camera.
We sent it completely ready to fit, with mirror-cap studs at the four corners that hold it off the wall. The client fitted it himself in his studio in Kharadi, Pune: he only had to drill the wall and fix it.
Our standard rate for acrylic letters on a base plate is ₹800 per sq ft + GST. This board cost more for its size, because a small board full of detail, from the script letters to the dot, takes as much work as a much bigger one. It came to ₹4,800 + 18% GST: the price, size and materials are exactly as in our proposal, shown in the photos above.
