Long print” brochures are simply brochures in a landscape (horizontal) orientation. At Orchid Digitals, we can produce long print brochures in A4 landscape format (297 mm wide × 210 mm high) as well as A5 landscape (210 mm wide X 148 mm high).

The design of these brochures is straightforward. We print a single A4 sheet, double-sided, with two creases that form three panels on each side (front and back), for a total of six panels.

When fully opened, the brochure measures A4 size (297 × 210 mm). When folded into a compact and portable form, it collapses to about 99 × 210 mm, making it easy to slide into envelopes or folders.

The Cover Page

At Orchid Digitals, we use a very thick 300/250 GSM card sheet for printing the covers of our clients’ company brochures. This paper used for the outside cover pages is as thick as a premium invitation or business card. And the moment a prospective client takes your corporate catalogue brochure in hand, they get the feel of holding a premium print collateral.

Lamination – Matt / Gloss Finish

The brochure’s outside cover pages are also finished with a top coat of lamination. You can select either matte or gloss lamination for your print. Lamination enhances both the tactile feel and visual appearance of the brochure, giving it a more polished and premium look. The term ‘shiny brochures’ perfectly describes the effect of lamination. Additionally, the lamination layer protects the print from dust, water, scratches, and everyday damage. This helps ensure that your marketing brochure remains fresh, pristine, and unblemished for years.

When it comes to the inside pages of our multi-page brochure, we don’t compromise. We use 170 GSM thick paper for the inside pages. Although it’s thinner than the cover, the inside pages are not as flimsy as typical printer paper. Instead, they are as thick as pages in premium magazines. This choice ensures that the printed brochure looks classy from the inside as well.

Cutting, Trimming, Centre Creasing

At Orchid Digitals, we don’t do anything halfway. When you entrust us with a project, you’ll receive a finished, ready-to-use product. We handle all the finishing touches to turn your brochure into an effective sales tool that is ready to use, straight out of the box. This includes cutting the prints to the desired size, trimming white edges, and using a machine to crease and fold the brochure neatly in the centre. Machine creasing prevents unsightly cracks during folding.

Binding

Finally, we assemble the brochure by stapling the loose sheets with a centre-pinning machine. Centre pinning is suitable for brochures up to 32 pages. But if your corporate catalogue exceeds this page count, staples may not be strong enough to hold all the pages together. In this case, we offer hard case binding or perfect binding options that are more durable and robust, ensuring that individual pages will not fall off, no matter how thick the catalogue.

Step 1: Share your design or specs

Step 2: Get a quote and pay online

We’ll send you a clear pricing along with detailed specifications for you to check. Our estimate will also contain a payment link via a QR code. Simply transfer the funds via UPI, cards, or net banking—whatever’s convenient.

Step 3: Approve your prototype (print job proofing)

We produce a single physical sample/proof. If you are in Pune, do drop by our store to check the same. Alternatively, you can have it picked up from the front desk.

For our outstation clients, we’ll share a detailed video/photos of the printed sample on WhatsApp for checking.

Step 4: We print the job and finish it to perfection

Step 5: Delivery across India

• For our Pune clients, we often hand‑deliver the finished job or arrange a quick local drop.
• For the rest of India, the printed brochures are shipped via our trusted logistics partner. We also share the tracking ID of the shipment so you can track its location. Do plan for a few extra days for courier transit, especially for outstation deliveries.

Margins and trimming (this is super important) ✂️

After printing, brochures are trimmed by a few mm on all sides to give a neat finished look. So, make sure to keep all the important text/logos in your design at least 15 mm (about half an inch) inside, from every edge. This “safe/bleed margin” ensures nothing gets cut off at the edges of the page. Full-bleed backgrounds or images are fine—just don’t park key content at the edge.

Page size that saves money 📏

Design in standard ‘A’ sizes for paper and card stock – A5, A4, A3, etc. These are also the sizes most printers keep in ready inventory. Non-standard design sizes can lead to paper wastage and lead to a higher quote for the printing job.

Uniform page dimensions for all the pages in your design file

This might seem obvious, but you’ll be surprised how often we encounter files with pages of varying sizes and orientations. The copywriter provides the text and design, the sales team sends in the price list, and the engineering team contributes diagrams and product specifications. When compiling information from these diverse sources, it’s common for the brochure design file to end up with differently sized pages. Be sure to prevent this by ensuring every page in your file is exactly the same size, which helps avoid misalignment.

File format and fonts 🖨️

Export your brochure design as a PDF with all the fonts embedded. Also, share your editable source file (CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) in case you need us to apply a few tweaks or improvements from our end.

Have you placed linked images in the design file? Then make sure to include the images as well. This avoids missing assets and unexpected substitutions.

Pro tips from our press floor

• Do not use page borders. They can look uneven or misaligned after trimming. Use full bleed images. They look classier.
• If it’s a tri-fold, allow a little extra tolerance on the inner folds and flap so it closes neatly.
• Avoid WhatsApp-compressed images; use high-resolution originals for crisp photo reproduction.

The Rule of Four

You’ve finished your brochure design and it’s, say, 3, 7 or 10 pages long. But your printer insists on adding pages. Why? Because booklet-style brochures are printed and folded in sets of four. 📄➡️📘

Here’s the simple logic:

• One sheet, folded once, creates four sides: front cover, inside left, inside right, back cover.
• That means your total page count must be a multiple of 4.
• Valid page counts: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20… You get the drift. ✅

What happens if it’s not a multiple of four?

• You’ll end up with an awkward blank page (not a great look), or we’ll need to add filler content at the last minute.

Quick fixes if you’re short by a page or two:

• Add a testimonial, FAQs, a mini case study, a product table, or a QR code to your website/WhatsApp.
• Use the back cover smartly: brand story, contact info, social handles, store locator map, or warranty details.

Pro tips for a smooth handoff to the print shop

• Set document size to a standard A4 or A5 (portrait or landscape).
• Keep images at 300 dpi and in CMYK for best print results.
• Add 3 mm bleed all around; keep important text at least 10–15 mm inside the edge.
