One board, four materials: a marble-finish ACP base, a teacup logo laser-cut from coloured acrylic and lit from behind, and 3D letters about 2.5 inches deep with gold metallic acrylic faces, lit from their side edges so they glow at the back and sides. For a tea merchant trading since 1962.
Amar Tea Co. has sold tea since 1962. Their new sign had to look right in daylight, when most of their customers pass, and still stand out at night.
The base is ACP with a rich marble finish, which gives the board a stone look without the weight of stone.
The teacup logo is laser-cut from coloured acrylic, set into the base and lit from behind so it shines after dark.
The letters are 3D, about 2.5 inches deep, faced with acrylic in a gold metallic finish. They catch the daylight long before the lights come on.
The letters are lit too, but from their side edges. The gold metallic face doesn’t let light through the front, so after dark each letter gets a warm glow around its sides and onto the marble behind it, with a solid gold face.
The board is mounted on a metal frame that juts out from the building.
