We made the L&T logo, about 2 ft across, in aluminium with a white acrylic face and a colour-changing RGB LED strip inside: one remote turns it any colour, or runs it through fades and chases.

Most LED signs glow in one colour, white or warm white. For L&T’s office at the Hindustan Shipyard site in Visakhapatnam we wanted to show what a logo looks like when it can change colour.
Each part of the logo is a box of bare aluminium: a back plate with sides about 2.5 to 3 inches deep. An RGB LED strip runs inside every channel, on the back plate.
The face is white acrylic that lets the light through evenly. It is set in a shallow aluminium frame, about an inch deep, that slides over the top of the box like the lid of a dabba. Sign makers call these trim-cap letters.
The LED strip has a wireless receiver built in. From the remote you can fix one colour, such as a brand colour, or run one of its preset effects: fading from colour to colour, flashing, chasing and lighting in sequence.
Everything, the aluminium work, the face and the wiring, was made in our workshop in Pune and tested in our office. In the end L&T chose a different solution from us for that office, so this logo now lights up the sample wall in our own office.
This one is made for indoor or sheltered spots, such as a reception or a lobby. An outdoor version is available on request.
