Why flat labels fall flat
Most labels are just flat prints on paper. They do their job, but nobody looks twice. Imagine the letters "ABC" printed on an ordinary sheet: fairly forgettable. Now picture the same letters standing up from the label in glossy 3D, catching the light as the product turns. That is the difference an embossed sticker makes.
With our 3D embossed stickers, your artwork is physically raised above the flat base of the sticker. The multi-layered print is striking to look at and satisfying to touch: customers can feel the raised logo when they run their fingers over it. For high-value products such as consumer electronics, home appliances and packaged retail goods, the label should look as good as the product it sits on.
Old craft, new method
Embossing is a centuries-old way to add depth to print. Traditionally, a craftsman engraved a metal die in the exact shape of the image, printed the sheet flat, then pressed the die into it from below with great force, pushing the paper fibres up so only the image stood out. Every single print had to go through the press. The process was slow, needed special machinery and skilled hands, and was so expensive that it was reserved for official seals, executive letterheads and coats of arms.
We have done away with all of that. Our digital process needs no die, no press and no set-up per design, which makes raised-effect stickers practical for everyday branding and for short runs.

How it's made
Ordinary inkjet printers lay down CMYK inks flat on the sticker sheet. Our Mimaki UCJV300 UV inkjet printer goes a step further with a five-colour ink set: cyan, magenta, yellow and black for high-resolution colour, plus a clear, transparent ink used only to build height. Here is how your sticker is made:

The print heads lay down the CMYK inks and your image is printed in full colour, flat, like any high-resolution print.

The heads go over the design again and build up clear ink exactly on top of the areas you choose, matching their shape and size.

UV light cures each layer as it is printed, leaving a hard, glossy, plastic-like coat about 0.5 to 1 mm thick that stands up from the vinyl.

The built-in cutter then cuts around each sticker's outline, so every label peels off in the shape of your design.
Take the letter "A". In the first pass it is printed flat. In the second pass the printer returns and deposits clear ink exactly on top of it, in the same shape and size. The letter now protrudes from the sticker, and you can feel its edges under your fingertip.
Look and feel
The clear layer does two jobs at once. It raises the image above the sticker sheet, giving a 3D look and a tactile feel, and it gives the design a glossy finish that catches the light, while the colours underneath stay vivid.
The raised layer, about 0.5 to 1 mm high, gives your logo a tactile, three-dimensional presence.
The clear ink dries to a shiny, glassy finish that reflects light as the product moves.
Raise only your logo or brand name, and leave the rest flat, to draw the eye exactly where you want it.
The clear coat sits on top of the CMYK print, so your brand colours show through unchanged.
Custom shape cutting
Most labels are stuck with square or rectangular shapes. Ours follow the exact outline of your artwork. Instead of your mascot sitting inside a plain white rectangle, the blade cuts along the mascot's own outline for a clean, die-cut look that matches your design.
How is such precise cutting possible? Our Mimaki UV printer has an in-line cutter: a sharp blade mounted with the print-head assembly. After printing, it follows the edges of each design using the printer's own registration marks, so the cut lines up with the print, and shapes that would be impossible to cut by hand come out clean every time. You can order embossed stickers and decals cut in the shape of your company logo, icons, clip art or character outlines.
The sticker face is cut to your outline while the backing stays whole, so each label peels off easily. The shape cut is included in the price.
Printing and cutting happen on the same machine, so the cut follows the design accurately.
Built for the outdoors
Your embossed stickers are printed on high-grade self-adhesive vinyl, not on paper or thin plastic, so they hold up to strong sun and heavy rain.
The image is printed with industrial UV inks, which are waterproof and fade-resistant and stand up to direct sunlight and everyday scuffs. Together, the outdoor-rated inks and the durable vinyl make your 3D decals suitable for demanding outdoor jobs such as car and motorcycle decals, where they stay in place without the colours bleeding, tearing or peeling in the weather and daily wear.

How we process your job
To keep production efficient and the cost per label low, we don't print stickers one by one. Your artwork is repeated across a large sheet of vinyl, cut from a roll 48 inches (4 feet) wide, and printed and kiss-cut in one run on our wide-format UV printer.
Between the stickers we leave a small gap of about 5 mm for the cutting blade, and about half an inch free on each side of the roll so the printer can grip the material. We fit as many stickers as possible into the area printed, so you often receive a few more labels than you asked for.
We don't sell single stickers. Your labels are produced together on a larger sheet, which we then cut into individual pieces before delivery, each kiss-cut sticker on its own backing, ready to peel.
Pricing
Embossed stickers are priced by the area of vinyl printed: ₹200 per sq ft + 18% GST, with the shape cut included. To find the cost of one label, divide the cost of the sheet by the number of labels that fit on it. The smaller your label, the more fit on a sheet, and the lower the cost of each one.
Here is an example with a 2 x 3 inch label on a 4 x 5 ft section of the roll (48 x 60 inches, 20 sq ft). After the 0.5 inch edges, 47 inches of the width is usable. With the 5 mm cutting gap, 14 labels fit across the width and 27 down the length: 14 x 27 = 378 labels.

Send us a high-resolution file for a crisp result. We work with industry-standard software and accept most file formats. The printed image itself can be a JPG or any other image file, but the printer also needs to know where to cut and where to raise the ink.
