A flag flying on a mast is one of the most powerful and economical communication tools there is: it captures attention from a distance and keeps working all day. And whether you want a corporate logo outside your headquarters, distinct house flags for a school, or your private club's mascot, a generic stock flag simply won't do. At Orchid Digitals we print exactly what you send, and we are just as happy making one standalone flag as we are making a hundred copies.
Fabric
For a flag to billow gracefully in the breeze or fly high on a mast, it must be exceptionally lightweight. At the same time, flags spend their working life outdoors, so the cloth has to hold up to sun, wind and rain. We get both from the raw material: a thin yet remarkably strong cotton-polyester blend sourced from renowned mills such as Arvind Mills™, Neo Fabric™ and Senfa Fabric™, a fabric that is tear-resistant and light enough to unfurl in the faintest breeze, where a heavier cloth would hang limp.
To suit different budgets and settings we offer two finishes of this fabric. Both print at the same high resolution with the same vibrant colours; the difference is in the feel and the price.
Premium option
A smooth, luxurious texture with a subtle sheen and a high-end look and feel. Choose it wherever the flag is seen or touched at close range.
Indoor displays: corporate offices, boardrooms, receptions and lobbies
Close-proximity use: flags beside a podium, on a stage or at a VIP reception
Budget-friendly option
Slightly rougher to the touch, but every bit as effective as a flag. A cost-efficient alternative with exactly the same print resolution as the premium cloth.

Configurations
If your flag will fly on an outdoor flagpole, turning in the wind and seen from both sides, choose a double-sided print. If it will be displayed indoors, draped flat against a wall or hung behind a stage, a single-sided print does the job and saves money: the reverse faces the wall and stays hidden, so leaving it blank is a practical economy.
For a double-sided flag we don't print on both faces of one layer. We print your artwork on two separate pieces of fabric and stitch them back to back, so that text and logos read correctly from either side. A double-sided flag is therefore a little heavier than a single-sided one, which matters when you choose its size (see below). If strong sunlight will shine through the flag, ask us about a black liner between the two layers so the print on the far side doesn't show through.

Print quality
The ink matters as much as the cloth when it comes to reproducing your artwork faithfully. We print your flags on industrial-grade Mimaki wide-format inkjet printers using exterior-grade eco-solvent or UV inks.
These exterior-grade inks are fully weatherproof: highly resistant to fading in harsh sunlight, and they will not bleed, run or dissolve in heavy rain.
Our machines print at very high resolution, so every fine line, gradient and small letter in your design is reproduced with crisp, faithful precision.
The colours are formulated to make printed images stand out and capture attention from far away, with maximum visual impact.
Cloth flags are meant for short-term outdoor use: an event, a festival season or a campaign. The print won't fade or wash out, but no light cloth lasts for years on an exposed mast, so plan on replacing flags that fly permanently.
How it's made
We produce your flags from huge rolls of fabric. The bales come in widths of 3, 4 or 5 feet and run hundreds of feet long, so large flags and large quantities are easy to accommodate.
The chosen roll is loaded onto the wide-format printer, which lays your design onto the cloth at very high resolution in vivid colour. The printing itself is fast and precise; it is the manual finishing that turns a printed length of cloth into a working flag.

Reinforced stitching along all edges stops threads from fraying, adds years to the flag's life and gives it a finished, professional look.

On the fourth side we sew a vertical hollow pocket about one inch wide, running the full height of the flag. Slide a rope or rod through it and the flag fits any standard flagpole.

Before dispatch we send you a short video of the finished flags, so you see exactly what is on its way.
The result is a tailored, ready-to-hoist product, not a printed patch of cloth. Poles, ropes and fittings are not included; the pocket fits standard flagpole ropes and rods.
Sizes and weight
We can print flags three, four or even five feet wide and several feet long, up to 10 x 5 ft in the calculator (message us for larger). Popular sizes are 4 x 3 ft, 6 x 4 ft and 8 x 5 ft. Before you order a big flag, though, think about its weight and where it will fly.
Rectangular and square flags are standard; triangular pennants and other custom shapes are available on request.
If a large flag goes on a pole that is only 10 to 15 feet high, or in a spot with little breeze, its own weight can make it droop instead of billow. In low-wind locations a smaller flag catches enough air to display your message clearly. This matters most for double-sided flags, which weigh twice as much because two layers are stitched together. Make sure the site has enough wind, or the pole enough height, to keep the flag flying.
Good to know
Our minimum order value is ₹3,000 + GST. A single large flag often reaches it on its own; for smaller flags we print several copies of your design to make up the total.
Because our equipment is industrial-scale, we don't make small novelty items such as tabletop or car-window flags. Enter your width and height in the calculator above to see the size range we accept.
The printing is quick; the cutting and stitching are manual steps. Typically allow a couple of days after payment and proof approval for the flags to be ready, plus courier time. Rush jobs can be moved to the front of the queue when the schedule allows, but we don't promise dates, so please plan your event with some margin.
Delivery is free across India on every order. In Pune our team hand-delivers, usually within 2-3 days; outstation parcels go by surface courier, typically 3-5 working days to metro cities and 5-7 elsewhere. In a hurry? Collect from our shop in Shaniwar Peth, Pune.

A 4 x 3 ft flag should be a 4 x 3 ft artboard, not 4 x 3 inches. Images should be at least 72-100 dpi at actual size; 300 dpi is ideal. RGB or CMYK are both fine.
Email the original AI, CDR or PDF. WhatsApp compresses photos, so a JPG or PNG sent on WhatsApp usually won't print well.
Placing your logo or artwork on the flag size is set-up work, and we do it for you. We don't create artwork from scratch; if you need a designer, we can recommend one in Pune.
You get a proof on WhatsApp before we print, and a video of the finished flags before they leave. Your OK on the proof is the go-ahead.
