Textured wallpaper
This is our premium wallpaper. Your image is printed at high resolution on a special vinyl roll with a texture on its front surface, such as canvas, linen, leather, or a rough, stone-like stucco finish.
The texture adds a new dimension to the print. It gives the wall depth, warmth and character, makes the finished piece look richer, and invites people to run their fingers over it. Because the design is yours, you are not limited to the standard albums at interior shops.
The back of the print is pre-gummed with a very strong adhesive, so it pastes straight onto a smooth, painted wall, like a giant sticker.

Print quality
However detailed or colourful your artwork is, we reproduce it faithfully on our industrial wide-format Mimaki printers, at up to 1,440 dpi, so fine lines and subtle gradients stay crisp even across a full wall.
We print with genuine Mimaki eco-solvent or UV inks, never unbranded or duplicate inks, for vibrant, true-to-life colours that resist fading.
The media is a branded textured wall vinyl, such as Wyte™: a monomeric PVC film of about 100 microns with a strong adhesive, on a release liner of about 100 microns. Textured wallpapers are not laminated; the texture is the finished surface.

Large walls
A custom wallpaper is never printed in one piece: nobody can paste a single continuous print across an 8 or 10 ft wall, let alone walls hundreds of feet long. So we split your artwork into vertical tiles, and the tiles are joined at their edges while pasting to form one continuous image.
Our textured rolls are 4 ft wide, so each tile is up to 4 ft wide. Because the print runs off a long roll, a tile can be as tall as your wall: 10, 15 or even 20 ft in one piece. The video shows how to plan a wall print, from measuring the wall to pasting.

Tiles usually have an overlap margin of about 0.5 in, which makes aligning them easier on uneven walls.

Before you paste
Our textured wall vinyl has a very strong adhesive, but it needs the right wall to bond well. Get the wall ready before your print arrives.
A smooth, level wall with no rough patches, cracks or flaking paint. Fix cracks and repaint first if needed.
Oil-painted or lustre-painted walls work best: they are smooth and water-resistant. Water-based paints will not work.
Textured wallpaper is for indoor walls. For outdoor walls, see our weatherproof vinyl prints.
On a good wall the print bonds firmly and does not lift. Peeling it off later can take the paint beneath with it.

Busy corridor or cafeteria? Textured wallpaper wipes clean with a damp cloth, but dust can settle in the textured pits. For high-traffic walls, choose our smooth laminated wallpaper, which has a protective top coat.
Installation
Pasting a pre-gummed wallpaper works like pasting a giant sticker. The soapy water lets you slide each tile into place before the glue grips. The video shows the same method on glass; follow these steps on your wall:

Spray a light film of soapy water on the clean, smooth wall.

Peel back the release liner along the top edge of the first tile to expose the adhesive.

Stick the top edge in place at the top of the wall and work your way down, peeling the liner as you go.

Smooth the print with a squeegee to push out the water and any air bubbles; the water lets you reposition the tile until it is aligned.

Paste the next tile the same way, covering the small overlap margin of the one before.

Press all the edges down firmly by hand, prick any remaining bubble with a pin, and leave it for a few hours to bond.

Design files
Measure your wall and set your artboard to the wall's actual size, e.g. 120 x 96 in for a 10 ft wide, 8 ft high wall. Note any doors, windows or switchboards that break the wall surface.

Aim for 300 dpi at actual size; if the file gets too heavy, 100-150 dpi at actual size works. Or design at one-tenth scale (12 x 9.6 in) at 300-600 dpi.
