Your glass real estate
The glass panels used as cabin partitions in modern offices are an excellent canvas for your brand. This "glass real estate" can carry your company logo, motivational quotes or abstract patterns that lift the look of your workspace.
Transforming it is simple: send us your design, and we print it on a transparent film, with your logo, words and images in an opaque white ink that stands out and catches every eye. The film has a strong self-adhesive back, and once it is pasted on your glass panels, your office looks sharper and more professional straight away.
The problem with ordinary glass prints
Colour images printed on transparent glass film with normal CMYK inks have one big weakness: once they are on the glass, they often look dull and hard to see. Both the film and the CMYK inks are transparent, so light passes straight through the design. Seen from the front, that light washes the print out, and it looks faded and difficult to read, especially in bright rooms.
The traditional fix was opaque white vinyl. Its white base reflects light, so images printed on it stay vivid. But a solid white sticker on glass can look cheap, because it is obvious that a sticker has been stuck on.
Printing on clear film looks far better: logos and lettering seem to float in mid-air on the glass. But then the original problem returns, because transparent inks lack punch in well-lit rooms and in sunlight.
The white ink advantage
We solve both problems at once by printing with opaque white ink on transparent film. Unlike ordinary transparent prints, our white ink blocks light, so your graphics stay crisp and readable, even in bright sunlight.
And because the areas around your design are clear film, the printed content appears to float on the glass. This floating effect, combined with bold white ink, gives glass facades in offices, showrooms and malls a clean, high-end look. Read more in our guide: what is white ink printing?

Our UV printers add white as a fifth colour to the usual CMYK inks. That gives you two ways to print on clear film, at the same price per square foot:
White only: bold, opaque white for logos, lettering, line art and patterns
Colour on a white underlayer: your full-colour artwork printed over a matching white layer, so the colours stay vivid instead of looking faded
Printed in white only, a photograph (a portrait, say) turns into a single-tone image that looks like an old film negative. For photographs and multi-colour artwork, choose colour on a white underlayer; white only is best for solid designs without half-tones.
Choose your film
Both films are clear vinyl with a self-adhesive back, printed at high resolution. The difference is in how invisible the film and its glue are once they are on the glass.

On most transparent films the adhesive isn't fully clear, so faint glue marks can be seen up close. In our ultra-clear film, also called optically clear film, both the film and the adhesive are crystal clear, so the film practically disappears and the glass looks as if it had been printed directly.

Tinted and dark glass
Normal CMYK inks are transparent, which makes colour prints on dark or tinted glass a real challenge: the dark glass shows through the ink, and your graphics become almost invisible to anyone looking at your shopfront or building.
For these panels we recommend UV-printed white ink graphics. The white ink is fully opaque, so the tint of the glass can't show through, and crisp white against dark glass creates a striking contrast that keeps your brand sharp and visible.
How it's printed
Glass facades need large graphics: most office partitions are 8 to 10 feet high from floor to ceiling, and as wide as the room they close off. That is why we stock transparent film in rolls 3, 4 and 5 feet wide. The rolls are hundreds of metres long, so your print can be any length you need.
Your artwork is printed on our industrial wide-format UV inkjet printers, which produce very high resolution with a bright, vivid white. We use only genuine, branded Mimaki UV inks, which keep their colour for years. See our printing infrastructure.

Prints wider than 5 ft are split into vertical tiles, which are pasted side by side on the glass to form one seamless image.

Need privacy? Transparent film doesn't give it: people outside can still see what happens behind the branded panel. For privacy, choose frosted glass film or opaque glass film prints.
Installation
Pasting a glass film print is straightforward. The soapy water lets you slide the film into position before it bonds, for a bubble-free, perfectly aligned finish. Watch the video, then follow these steps:

Spray soapy water, clean the glass thoroughly, and wipe off any remaining dust with a squeegee or a clean cloth.

Spray the clean glass with soapy water once more.

Place the print, printed side down, on the wet glass so the printed side becomes slightly damp.

Holding the print in place, peel off the release liner to expose the adhesive, and spray the adhesive side generously with soapy water.

Turn the print over and start from one corner or edge, smoothing the film onto the glass with a squeegee or cloth; the soapy water lets you reposition it until it is perfectly aligned.

Press out any air bubbles and wrinkles, squeegee out all the water from under the film, and wipe the front dry.

Leave it for a few hours: as the water evaporates, the adhesive bonds firmly.
