Your glass real estate
The glass panels around cabins and meeting rooms in modern offices are an excellent canvas for your brand. This "glass real estate" can carry your company logo, product images, mission statement, motivational quotes or abstract patterns that lift the look of your workspace.
Transforming it is simple: send us your design, and we print it on a frosted film with a self-adhesive back. Pasted on your glass, it upgrades your interiors straight away. As the saying goes, dikhta hai toh bikta hai: what is seen, is sold.
Three jobs in one film
Frosted film has a smoky, dusted finish, like etched glass. Unlike clear film, it is translucent: it lets light through but blurs everything behind it. That makes a printed frosted film do three jobs at the same time.

The film is semi-opaque, so people outside see only vague shapes, not what happens in your cabins and meeting rooms.

How it's printed
On white vinyl, the white base reflects the colours of a print straight back to you. Frosted film is different: light passes through it from both sides of the glass, and with light shining through from behind, an ordinary single-pass print can look dull or faded, and fine details can almost disappear.
So we recommend double-strike printing, also called overprinting. The print head passes twice over the same area and lays a second layer of ink on top of the first, a little like overwriting the letters in a school handwriting book. The extra ink slightly over-saturates the colours to make up for the light coming through, and the image stays vivid once it is on the glass.
Your film is printed in-house on our industrial wide-format Mimaki printers with genuine Mimaki eco-solvent or UV inks, which are outdoor-grade and resist fading.

Large glass, one graphic
Glass facades and partitions need large graphics: most office partitions are 8 to 10 feet high from floor to ceiling, and as wide as the room they close off. That is why we stock frosted film in rolls 3, 4 and 5 feet wide. The rolls are hundreds of metres long, so your print can be any length.
For graphics wider than 5 feet, we split the image into vertical tiles. While pasting, the tiles are placed side by side on the glass to form one seamless image.

Frosted film vs acid etching
Traditionally, the frosted effect was made by etching glass with acid through a stencil. It is slow and costly, it has to be done in a workshop before the glass is installed, and it is permanent: to change the design, you replace the glass.
Frosted film gives the same look at a fraction of the cost. It is pasted on your existing glass on site, it is quick to produce, and it can be peeled off and replaced whenever your branding changes.

Not the right film for every job: frosted film blocks the view, so if you want people to see into your office or store, choose transparent or white ink glass film prints. And it needs clear glass: on tinted or dark glass the print isn't clearly legible.
Installation
Pasting a glass film print is straightforward. The soapy water lets you slide the film into position before it bonds, for a bubble-free, perfectly aligned finish. Watch the video, then follow these steps:

Spray soapy water, clean the glass thoroughly, and wipe off any remaining dust with a squeegee or a clean cloth.

Spray the clean glass with soapy water once more.

Place the print, printed side down, on the wet glass so the printed side becomes slightly damp.

Holding the print in place, peel off the release liner to expose the adhesive, and spray the adhesive side generously with soapy water.

Turn the print over and start from one corner or edge, smoothing the film onto the glass with a squeegee or cloth; the soapy water lets you reposition it until it is perfectly aligned.

Press out any air bubbles and wrinkles, squeegee out all the water from under the film, and wipe the front dry.

Leave it for a few hours: as the water evaporates, the adhesive bonds firmly.
