Every office, showroom and retail mall has glass: cabin partitions, conference rooms, shop windows or a full glass facade. Those panels can promote your products and services, display your company logo, or simply lift the look of your workspace.
The fastest and simplest way to do it is to put your design on an adhesive film and paste it on the glass. Send us your artwork, and we print it on a transparent film that you (or our fitters in Pune) apply directly to your glass. Your space looks sharper straight away, and when you no longer need the graphic, the film peels off without harming the glass.
The dual advantage
We can print your artwork on many kinds of film for glass. This page is about transparent film, which does two jobs at once: it decorates your glass with your products, services, logo or brand messages, and it doesn't block the view for people on either side.
Because the film is clear, light passes through it. On a glass partition the printed design is plainly visible, yet you can still see through the glass to the other side. That keeps an office bright and open, and lets a shop show what is inside.

The dual function makes transparent glass film prints ideal for the fronts of retail malls and showrooms. These businesses need passers-by to see their products and interiors, and the film lets them do that while branding the same glass with a logo or custom images.

All three are clear self-adhesive films printed at high resolution with double-strike printing (explained below). They differ in protection and in how invisible the film and its glue are once they are on the glass. Prices are per square foot, as in the price table at the top of the page.

On standard transparent films the adhesive isn't fully clear, so faint glue marks can be seen up close. In ultra-clear film, also called optically clear film, both the film and its adhesive are crystal clear. It blends into the glass and practically disappears, so the glass looks as if it had been printed directly.

Which film is right for you?
Regular film, laminated or not, suits most applications. For high-end interiors and prestige projects, choose ultra-clear film: it costs a little more, but its film and adhesive are made for a very high level of transparency, which matters wherever people see the glass up close.

Double-strike printing
Prints look excellent on white opaque vinyl because the white base reflects all the colours back to you. Transparent film needs a different approach. Light passes through it from both sides of the glass, so an ordinary single-pass print can look dull or faded from the front when light shines through from behind. Sometimes the image becomes so faint that its details are barely visible.
That is why we print every transparent glass film job with double-strike printing, also called double-pass printing or overprinting. The print head passes twice over the same area: the first pass lays down the image, the second lays another layer of ink exactly on top of it, rather like tracing over the letters again in a handwriting book.
The extra ink slightly over-saturates the colours, which makes up for the light passing through the film once it is on the glass. The result is a vibrant image that stays strong and clear. Double-strike printing is included in all three film options, at no extra charge.

Large-format printing
Big glass facades need big graphics. Most office partitions are 8 to 10 feet high from floor to ceiling, and as wide as the room they close off. That is why we stock transparent film in rolls 3, 4 and 5 feet wide. The rolls are hundreds of metres long, so your print can be any length you need.
Your artwork is printed on our industrial wide-format inkjet printers, eco-solvent or UV depending on the job, which reproduce every fine detail at very high resolution with vivid colour. We use only genuine, branded Mimaki inks, which give stunning results that last for years without fading. See our printing infrastructure.

When not to use transparent film: for privacy, it doesn't work, because people can still see through; choose frosted glass film or opaque glass film prints instead. On dark or tinted glass, transparent prints are hard to read because the glass shows through the inks; use them on clear glass, or choose white ink glass film prints for tinted panels.
Installation
Pasting a glass film print is straightforward. The soapy water lets you slide the film into position before it bonds, for a bubble-free, perfectly aligned finish. Watch the video, then follow these steps:

Spray soapy water, clean the glass thoroughly, and wipe off any remaining dust with a squeegee or a clean cloth.

Spray the clean glass with soapy water once more.

Place the print, printed side down, on the wet glass so the printed side becomes slightly damp.

Holding the print in place, peel off the release liner to expose the adhesive, and spray the adhesive side generously with soapy water.

Turn the print over and start from one corner or edge, smoothing the film onto the glass with a squeegee or cloth; the soapy water lets you reposition it until it is perfectly aligned.

Press out any air bubbles and wrinkles, squeegee out all the water from under the film, and wipe the front dry.

Leave it for a few hours: as the water evaporates, the adhesive bonds firmly.

Like all prints, they carry no warranty unless we give one in writing for a specific job.
Not well. Transparent film doesn't hide anything, and on dark or tinted glass the print is hard to read. For privacy choose frosted or opaque glass film; for tinted glass choose white ink glass film prints.
