Signs that work after dark
A road direction board, a safety warning or a gate sign has to be read in bright sunlight and in total darkness. An ordinary vinyl print looks fine by day but disappears once the sun goes down, and lighting every sign means cables, power and maintenance.
Reflective prints solve this with the light that is already there. The film sends the beam of a vehicle's headlights straight back towards the driver, so the sign appears to light up exactly when someone needs to read it. A warning about a sharp turn, a speed breaker or a no-entry zone stays visible all night, without a single wire.
The science
The printable surface of this film is covered with thousands of microscopic, spherical glass beads, each backed by a silvered layer that works like a tiny mirror. Together they turn the film into a retro-reflective surface: light that falls on it is returned towards its source instead of scattering in every direction.
When headlights hit the sign, the beads send that light back towards the vehicle, so to the driver the sign seems to glow. The film makes no light of its own: the reflection stops the moment the light source moves away.

Glass-beaded or prismatic?
We print on two kinds of reflective film, and they are not interchangeable. Both cost the same per square foot, so the choice depends only on where your sign goes and how far away it has to be read.
Close range and fine detail
Microscopic beads you can't see with the naked eye, so photos, small text and fine artwork print cleanly. It reflects over a wide angle, which suits signs read from close by and from the side.

The material
We use an engineering-grade glass-beaded reflective film, about 100 microns thick, with a high-tack adhesive on a 100-micron release liner. It comes on rolls 4 feet wide and is cut to the size of your sign.
Although the reflecting beads are glass, the film itself is plastic. It won't shatter or crack like a mirror, it flexes for easy handling and transport, and it bonds permanently to smooth metal sheets and rigid boards.

Print quality
Your sign is printed in-house on our industrial wide-format Mimaki printers with original Mimaki UV-curable inks. The inks cure instantly under UV light into a tough, colourful layer that suits Indian outdoor conditions, from monsoon rain to harsh summer sun.
Cured UV inks don't bleed or wash off in heavy monsoon rain.
Colours resist fading in strong sunlight, so the sign stays readable for a long time.

Three formats
The same reflective print comes in three versions. Choose by the surface you are fixing it to and how tough the location is.
₹100 per sq ft + GST
For surfaces that are already smooth and flat: an installed metal sheet, an old signboard frame or a laminated panel. Peel the print off its liner and stick it on like a giant sticker.
₹180 per sq ft + GST
A sticker won't hold on a rough or uneven wall such as plaster or brick. Mounted on a light, rigid 5 mm PVC sunboard panel, the sign can be nailed, screwed or taped to the wall.
₹240 per sq ft + GST
For roadside poles and building exteriors that face wind, impacts and flying debris. The 3 mm exterior-grade aluminium composite panel is strong, light and dent-resistant, and it doesn't rust in the rain.
Reflective or glow?
The two are often confused, but they work in opposite ways, and each suits a different job.
Outdoors, with traffic
Makes no light of its own. It reflects light from an outside source, such as headlights, back towards that source, and the reflection stops as soon as the vehicle passes.

Indoors, during a power cut

Pricing
Reflective prints are priced per square foot of the finished sign, by format: ₹100 for the sticker roll, ₹180 on sunboard and ₹240 on ACP, all + 18% GST. The calculator at the top of this page works out the price for a sign size; it rounds each side up to the next whole foot, so a 50 x 40 inch sign is priced as 5 x 4 feet (20 sq ft).
Our minimum order is ₹3,000 + GST. You don't need one huge sign to reach it: several small signs can be printed together on the 4-foot-wide roll or board and billed by their total area. For a mix of sizes, message us the list and we'll quote.

Fixing your sign
Sunboard and ACP signs need no wet application: nail or screw a sunboard sign to the wall, or drill and bolt an ACP sign to a metal frame, pole or exterior wall. The sticker roll goes on with the wet application method, which gives a flat, bubble-free finish:

Clean the surface and spray a little soapy water on it. The water stops the glue from gripping at once, so you can slide the print into the exact position.

Peel back the top edge of the liner, place the print against the surface and work your way down from the top.

Press the print down firmly with a squeegee, pushing out the soapy water and air bubbles so the vinyl lies completely flat.

Press along all the edges by hand for a tight, permanent bond.
