What is SAV?
SAV stands for self-adhesive vinyl. We print your artwork at a very high resolution on a large roll of smooth-coated plastic that carries a strong adhesive on its back. Peel the print off its release liner and stick it on like any other sticker.
It is the most versatile large-format print we make: posters, wall prints, window and glass graphics, product displays, presentation charts and in-store branding, on almost any smooth, flat surface. Choose it un-laminated for short campaigns, or add a protective top coat of lamination for prints that must stay good-looking for longer.

Two variants
Both variants use the same vinyl and the same high-resolution print. The difference is the top coat. Prices are per square foot + 18% GST, as in the price table at the top of this page.

One step up: a protective plastic film is pressed over the print. It shields the inks from dust, scratches, water and everyday wear and tear, and gives the print a finished look. Choose it for anything that stays up for longer or gets touched and cleaned.

Matte or gloss
Lamination adds a top coat of protective plastic to the printed image, for two reasons: looks and protection. The film comes in two finishes, and both cost the same, so choose purely by the look you want. Learn more in our guide what is print lamination.
Gloss adds punch. A shiny overcoat makes photographs pop: picture a model wearing jewellery, and the ornaments jump out. Its two drawbacks are reflections, which can hide small text and fine detail under bright lights, and scratches, which show up easily on a shiny surface.
Matte leaves the image exactly as it is. It doesn't reflect, so small fonts and fine detail (every strand of hair in a portrait) stay readable, and everyday scratches are much harder to see. That's why most of our clients choose matte, and it's what we use if you don't specify a finish.

The vinyl
The media is a smooth-coated vinyl built for high-resolution printing. It has two layers: the vinyl itself, about 100 microns thick with a strong adhesive, and a release liner underneath, also about 100 microns thick. To apply it, peel the liner away and press the vinyl in place.
Our standard prints use calendered vinyl from industry-standard brands such as Wyte™, GCO™, SGM™, LSM™ and Onyx™. Branded media prints far better than local unbranded rolls, and the print lasts longer. If you want an international brand, we can source 3M™ or Avery™ vinyl on request, at a higher price; ask us for a quote.

Print quality
We print on industrial wide-format printers at resolutions of up to 1,440 dpi, so photographs, small text and fine detail come out crisp, provided your file has enough resolution for the print size. See our printing infrastructure.
We use eco-solvent or UV inks, chosen for the job, and only genuine branded inks, never generic or duplicate inks that fade quickly and print dull. The result is vibrant, true-to-life colour on every print.

Sizes and tiling
We print on rolls 3, 4 and 5 feet wide, so a single seamless print can be up to 5 ft wide and as long as you need. Choosing the right roll for your size keeps material wastage, and your cost, down.
For anything wider, such as a full wall, we split the artwork into tiles up to 5 ft wide, print them separately, and join them edge to edge while pasting, so the finished graphic reads as one image.
Each print must be at least 4 x 3 ft (either way round). Smaller designs, such as a set of small posters, can be combined on one print of 4 x 3 ft or more and cut apart.

Un-laminated SAV costs ₹50 per square foot and laminated SAV (matte or gloss) ₹70 per square foot, both + 18% GST. Measure your print in feet, round each side up to the next whole foot, and multiply: a 50 x 37 in print is billed as 5 x 4 ft = 20 sq ft.

Indoors and outdoors
SAV is made for indoor use: walls, glass, boards, doors, counters and panels inside shops, offices, malls, hospitals, schools and homes. Laminated SAV also copes with short outdoor campaigns, where a print only has to last a few weeks or months.
For long-term outdoor use, we recommend polymeric vinyl for flat surfaces and cast vinyl for curves, vehicles and harsh sites. Like all our prints, SAV carries no warranty unless we give one in writing for a specific job.

Installation
Installing a vinyl print is simple. The print is pre-gummed, so for a small print you just peel it off the release liner and stick it like any other sticker sheet. For large prints and wall graphics, many installers use the wet (water-pasting) method, which makes positioning easy and leaves the print flat, without creases or wrinkles:

Make sure the surface is smooth, clean, dry and free of dust and grease.

Spray a film of water on the surface and on the adhesive side of the vinyl. It softens the glue's first grip, so you can slide the print into position.

Place the print, line it up, and adjust until it sits exactly right.

Work from the centre outwards with a squeegee to push out the water and any air pockets.

Leave it for a few hours; the glue then forms a strong bond with the surface beneath.
Walls must be smooth, with a top coat of oil paint or lustre paint; water-based paints will not hold the print. Installation by our team is available in Pune on orders of ₹10,000 + GST and above, charged extra.
